Founded in Strasbourg in 1998 by conductor Jean-Philippe Wurtz, Ensemble Linea is an internationally renowned ensemble. It has performed at major festivals and has played in cities including New York, Paris, Chicago, Seoul, Budapest, Brussels, Bilbao, Berlin, Huddersfield, Geneva, Lyon, Royaumont, and Prague. Its concerts have been broadcast on radio stations such as France Musique, the BBC, and Südwestfunk.

Linea strongly supports young composers through commissions, composition and performance masterclasses, and concerts. It also distinguishes itself through its intercultural approach, presenting repertoire from other continents and developing exchanges with ensembles from around the world.

Linea From its inception, Linea has earned the trust of leading contemporary figures and has forged fruitful collaborations with, among others, Peter Eötvös, Brian Ferneyhough, Philippe Manoury, and Helmut Lachenmann. Since 2014, it has organized composition and performance academies in Strasbourg, Cordes-sur-Ciel, and elsewhere. During the 2024-25 season, Linea performed at Wien Modern, the Radio France Présences Festival, and the Monte-Carlo Spring Arts Festival.

Since 2025, the ensemble has operated under a shared artistic direction between the conductor and the musicians. The aim is to reinvent concert formats by forging close links with other fields, from philosophy to geopolitics. The ensemble is strengthening its local presence by performing in new venues while simultaneously expanding its international reach. Issues of inclusion, gender equality, and environmental responsibility are central to Linea's mission.

A/B ENSEMBLE
guest resident ensemble

A/B Ensemble is both a programming concept and a space in which to bring it to life.

Under the artistic direction of Pablo Carrascosa Llopis, and with the collaboration of renowned musicians from both the national and international scenes of contemporary music, the collective presents an open and flexible formation in which any instrumental combination is possible.

The group transforms, expands, or contracts—always guided by a distinctive way of programming, producing, and performing concerts. A/B is also strongly connected and committed to the world of recording.
